Horsham Nature
and Water Play Park

Horsham Rural City Council secured $2.45 million from State and Federal Governments to fully fund the region’s first Nature and Water Play Park and engaged AWS Services VIC (Pty) Ltd to design and deliver the project.

Working closely with Horsham Rural City Council,  AWS Services as the head contractor provided the design and construction services for the delivery of the Nature and Water play park.

Located at Horsham’s riverfront precinct near the rowing club, the park was recently officially opened by the Honourable Anthony Albanese MP – Prime Minister and is free and accessible for all ages and abilities, all year round.

Supplied, installed, and constructed by AWS Services, the Nature and Water Play Park includes a gently flowing water course, this is manually operated by hand pumps, systems of adjustable dams and weirs, spray heads and pop jets – suited to be operated by children of all ages.

AWS Services have also supplied and installed play elements that can be used all year without water flow, including small boulders for climbing, logs for balancing, stones for jumping along and sand pits.

The Horsham Rural City Council through engagement with the community were told they wanted the Wimmera River’s natural beauty retained and the Nature and Water Play park reflects this. AWS Services have kept in mind what the community have asked for and delivered a project that accurately reflects the community requests and retains the natural beauty.
