Federation square roundabout was originally built for lesser vehicle traffic movement. However it required expansion as it was too small for current vehicle traffic. It was redesigned by the council for higher occupancy of vehicles and AWS Services undertook the roundabout upgrade works.

The old roundabout was demolished, existing concrete surface in reduced sections was excavated to prepare a new surface and concrete kerbing was applied to the lower section of the proposed roundabout.

There was also installation of blue stone, rounded edge pavers, Installation of round planter box, supply and installation if topsoil with evergreen vegetation.
